What Ergood wrote in my yearbook (since I never post I'll answer Jacci's question in one) :

Julia, sophomore and senior years, thank you for being you! Best wishes for continued success.

-M. Ergood

The Erg loves me. hahahahhaa. Ever since the 1st day of her class soph. year I had bright pink hair and I fell asleep and she asked me some question .. Oh I don't remember.. all I know is that she said I was a character and kept talking to me ever since. (She loved the hair color too)

I'll miss that class.. maybe.

p.s.-- Maybe since she gave Mercy her paper clip she'll give me her phone-shaped water bottle. lol.

radicalqueen: yearbooks/procrastinating

what did ergood write in everyone's yearbook? I got a super-boring "have fun and work hard deal". I'm disappointed in her. however, mercy's paperclip deal rocks. I suppose one doesn't need paperclips in retirement?
also: did anyone get mckenna to sign their yearbook? I'm SO curious as to what she'll say.

xthinkpositivex: McKenna PRESENT???

So Dan and I were scuttling to English class, catching a few last sarcastic comments from EMac, and she said that she wouldn't be here on Friday, but:
"When you see the present, think of me"
Or something along the lines of that.

PRESENT? What is this Jurassic jumble of a comment supposed to mean? I can only hope that McKenna is going to provide us with some sort of weird surprise that will baffle and amaze. It could always just be nothing tho.

In other news, Ergood gave me her paperclip.

xthinkpositivex: GET READY FOR AWESOME

Make sure you all go to the Battle of the Bands at Shawnee on Thursday, I think it starts at 7 and is $5 or something. It will be thoroughly awesome, I swear. I'll be giving out free high fives to all that attend.

pattymayonnaise: tshirt action in study hall

susie: you with the shirt...why is my name on there?

me: err, we put a lot of the english teachers' names on there. it's an ap english shirt.

susie: i don't get the whole circle thing though.

me: well...i'm not..really sure...but ergood has this thing called the circle of interpretation, and if you're inside, you've interpreted literature correctly, and if you're outside, you interpreted it wrong. ergood's never mentioned it to you?

susie: no, but it sounds like a lot of the innovative teaching methods i've heard about before. keep going...

me: well, we made these shirts because she's retiring this year...and the circle thing is awesome.

susie: i'm outside the circle though. does that mean i'm ...wrong?

me: no, it just means that you...think outside the box...

susie: ooohhhhhhh. okay.

me: don't worry, it's nothing bad...

the shirts were certainly a success.
although i had to lie about the circle, and to her, for shame :(
i think maybe she believed me though.

and just for your own random knowledge...we have over forty entries on this thing :p

pattymayonnaise: submitted for your approval

robin and i finally got around to constructing a tentative *ap english calender of events* in class yesterday...(stress tentative--we're not sure yet where/at what time some of this stuff is going to take place)

Right now, it looks like this:

Tuesday, 5/4: Ap test review/study group for those who want to get some last-minute studying in. (starbucks? borders?)

Friday, 5/7: post-AP test 1920's/LINDY HOP PARTY!! (someone will have to relinquish their house for this...)

Sunday, 5/16: South Street trip.

those of you who want to get involved in something but already made other plans--let us know. this is just a rough draft of sorts and is still flexible.

and if you have ideas for other things we could add please feel free to contribute those also.

and spread the word!

taipan85: T-Shirts

Liz & I went to check out cost today. The shirts will be $10. I'll collect that in two installments of $5.

I need Susie quotes for the "Susie Sircle." Post them if you remember...I think I wrote them down. So far:
"Ben Jonson was a better poet than Satan."
"I'm wearing my daughter's clothes today!"
"I put things in my head differently than most people."
"The mouse didn't cry over his beer." [Re: Of Mice and Men]
"The Square of Trafalgar is a commemoration of Admiral Trafalgar winning some battle."
"Does anyone know who Machiavell is?"

*Hmm...there's some devils that Mercy drew in my English notebook last year.*
And, for some reason, I wrote this in my top margin:
'Cows by roses upset A.S. mum
Girls destroyed girls forts on top of hill
Followed hillside [right arrow] A.S. in "fairyland" [right arrow] "stress" spot'
